Ponthir Sports & Community Club is your local club with a great history and even greater ambitions. Situated at the heart of the village next to the local junior school it offers sports (cricket, football, boules and darts) but also the best place for recreation in the area. Leasing and managing the only publicly accessible green space (about 5 acres) between Cwmbran and Caerleon the club also runs a number of events each year which have proved to be extremely popular with locals and visitors alike. With a Community Café, Italian lessons, Crib Team and Quiz nights the club is well patronised but there's room for more. Got an idea? Let us know.
Built on a bedrock of sport with cricket dating back to 1881 and football at least 50 years the "new" club has become a Community Amateur Sports Club which incorporates the traditions of old with a solid base for the years ahead.
It was amazing and we will definitely be there again next year! Absolutely amazing night! Xxx
